Katie joined Far Western in 2018 and is a Senior Archaeologist in the Davis Office. She graduated with a B.A. in Evolutionary Anthropology from UC Davis in 2012 and received her M.A. in Anthropology from CSU Sacramento in 2022 with her thesis research focusing on the chronology and distribution of ground stone technologies in the Eastern Sierra Nevada, specifically Owens Valley. Her current research interests include the use of XRF and use-wear analysis of ground stone, the interpretation of sexual division of labor within the archaeological and ethnographic record, and interdisciplinary collaboration with Native American communities.
