Amy Gilreath, M.A.

Amy’s archaeological interests center on hunter-gatherers in the southern Great Basin and California. She has been a Principal at Far Western for nearly 20 of her 30 years as a project archaeologist and project manager. Her analytical interests focus on material culture (flaked stone technology, ceramics, perishables) and prehistoric rock art. Her published work makes use of the robust data sets that result from large-scale inventory and multi-site evaluation and mitigation projects. In this manner, research findings that result from meeting clients’ cultural resource management needs are shared with the public and the profession. Some of her publications appear in the Journal of California and Great Basin Anthropology, California Archaeology, University of California Archaeological Research Facility-Berkeley, University of Utah Press, Nevada State Museum Anthropological Papers, and American Indian Rock Art. She also contributes to refereed on-line archaeological websites, such as www.onlinenevada.org.
