Housed in the historic Bank of California Building in Gold Hill, Nevada, the Great Basin Office oversees Far Western’s operations in central and northern Nevada, and Oregon. Under the direction of Junior Partner D. Craig Young, Ph.D., the staff includes six full-time archaeologists who together provide an in-depth understanding of both the archaeological record and management challenges particular to Nevada and the Great Basin. The office serves as a regional, full-service, administrative and operational arm of Far Western. It is conveniently situated a short drive from the major government institutions in Carson City, and the University of Nevada and Desert Research Institute in Reno.
